Worth the Fight
A hero, a cop, and a Coyote? Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke.
Ashley Qing, known to her fellow heroes as Ice Queen, is used to operating alone. A lifetime of concealing her natural powers over ice makes her slow to trust and even slower to depend on others. But when a shadowy government organization arrives on Island Eleven, she’ll need all the help she can get to stay alive—starting with her cop friend, Taylor.
Police officer Taylor Jameson has more than enough on his plate since his old gang, the Coyotes, rose back to power. Now, with the Department of Security Affairs tracking down people with natural powers—like his confidential informant and sometimes-lover, Ashley—Taylor will have to accept help from the most unlikely of sources: Jo, his ex-girlfriend.
Jolene Turner, Coyote extraordinaire and current owner of the shadow-traveling Morningstar DP-11, has been tasked with a supposedly simple assignment: find out if known hero Ice Queen has natural powers. Unfortunately, her search leads her not only to adorably abrasive Ashley, but also to the man who broke her heart ten years ago.
A hero, a cop, and a Coyote working together without killing each other sounds impossible, but their common enemy from the mainland forces them into an uneasy alliance—and their undeniable attraction leads them into something more. When DOSA sets its sights on Ashley, will they be able to overcome their pasts in time to protect everything they hold dear?
